I remember training with GM Giron in his backyard for my first lesson. He gave me the basics and the foundation for my journey. 

The focus of Arts into a NonClassical Set. I really like the way Sifu Joe has blended his Escrima, WingChun, Silat, and Kenpo. I feel like this is our mission also, to beable to blend the “essential” concepts of these other arts into our Eskrima skills.

I have often heard it said that the most important belt in MA’s is the white belt. Even after passing Black, Guro, Sifu, or whatever that system considers its graduate level. One must always be a student, so one is always learning.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to train with James Demile, who was a student of Bruce Lee. It was a great experience. Sifu Demile went over the basics of his art and how it could lead into Jiu Jitsu. It’s always great to get to share some time with any of Bruce’s students, and Demile was no different. Was awesome to hear his stories of their days and training together!
